It's official!

We have an official due date...September 12, 2011!! We had a great check-up yesterday. I got to meet another partner, Dr. Farrow, and I really liked her. She is really laid back. She did a quick ultrasound to get some measurements and solidify our due date. Now it is official. I couldn't believe how active the little one is, and it is so weird that I can't even feel it. Those little hands were waving all over the place. I can't wait for our big ultrasound next week on the high-tech machine. I am hoping to get some better pictures, and maybe even find out the gender. But I won't get my hopes up too high...it might be too early.  Matt is really chomping at the bit to find out. He couldn't make it to the ultrasound yesterday, so I know he will be so surprised how much the baby has changed in a few short weeks.
This is the end of my first trimester. I cannot believe how quickly it has flown by and how smoothly it has gone. That is such a blessing. This week the baby is the size of a lime. As my mom said "hold the salt and tequila". And to think she doesn't even drink!!

11 weeks

I go to the doctor tomorrow for my check-up. I will be 11 weeks tomorrow (by ultrasound). Will have another ultrasound in 1 week. I am feeling much better and starting to get some energy back. I am loving PBJ sandwiches, grapes, cheese, and pizza!! Can't get enough pizza...this is definitely a mini-Matt!! Matt says if I keep eating like this, he is going to gain weight too! I told him, he doesn't have to keep up with me, or suggest we get ice cream on the way home. He is using this pregnancy as an excuse for him to stop at Kilwin's for ice cream!!

Over the past few days, I started noticing a pooch. My jeans are getting a bit uncomfortable after dinner. Here is a picture.

Happy Valentine's Day

This Valentine's Day was very low key. Cubbie had obedience class that night, so we loaded up and headed out to Julington Creek in that awful rush hour traffic. Cubbie met some new dogs and people and worked on his skills a bit more. Slowly, we are reversing who is boss! We planned to cook dinner, but class ran late and I was STARVING!! So, we stopped by IHOP on the way home for pancakes. How romantic!!

Baby's first limo ride!

Happy Birthday Sara!! For Sara McKee's 35th Birthday, Brett rented a limo and we headed down to St. Augustine for dinner. I knew I wouldn't make it very late that night, so Matt and I drove down earlier in the day and parked a car at the restaurant. I made it until 11pm, later than I thought. I took several naps the following day, but it was worth it :)

Happy New Year!

It is 2011! We got engaged in 2009, married in 2010, and were curious as to what 2011 would bring. Our question was answered on the morning of New Years Eve. We took a pregnancy test and found out we were expecting our first child! What a blessing and an amazing way to start 2011! We laughed, shed a few tears, and then nausea set in (mainly for Matt! hahaha!).  We saw the heartbeat at our first appointment with Dr. Richmond on Monday 1/24/2011. It was one of the most amazing moments in both of our lives. Seeing the heartbeat made the pregnancy real.  It was then time to start telling our extended family. We told our immediate families as soon as we found out. It was an awesome feeling to share our news with our parents and siblings.
Based on the ultrasound, our due date is somewhere between September 5-12. We will have an exact date after our next ultrasound scheduled for February 28th. We will keep you posted. Please check back for pictures and updates. We will take pictures of my belly once it starts to grow!

The pictures posted are of the morning we found out (looking a little rough) and that night at the Dewing's New Year's Eve party. As you can see, I was looking a bit green. I was having a rough night with nausea. It was hard to hide it and I think a few people figured it out!
